A few months ago I was contacted by author of 10 Parenting books, Hollie Smith, asking if I would like to contribute some quotes to a new book she was writing. Of course I jumped at the opportunity. It's not everyday you get a Parenting Expert as for quotes from your experiences for a book.

And so the email exchanges began. Hollie would email questions asking for experiences on certain topics and aspects of parenting and I would reply with my personal experience.

The book was completed and I was sent a copy. I was so excited when it dropped on my door mat and I couldn't wait to get reading.

Having 3 children already, I've kind of 'been there, done that' so for me it was just a case of reading through how others have felt and handled situations.

I really wish this book was around when I'd had my first child. It really is filled with a lot of information on a vast array of topics from baby to toddler-hood. I love to hear about how others have managed situations and what the experts say on how to deal with difficult moments. For example, my first child had horrendous colic, didn't sleep through and was slightly lazy in the crawling/walking department. I also went through bad experiences with potty training and when's the right time. A family member was comparing him to another child and made me feel bad that he wasn't potty training at 2.

It's hard being a mum. I suffered with really bad Post Natal Depression too but this book really made me feel like I wasn't alone.
