I love the old fashioned quilts and ever since seeing the film 'Stepmom' as a teen, I've wanted a personalised quilt.

There's a part of the film where the mom makes her son a quilt out of old clothes and memorable items so he can remember her by when she's gone.

When I had my girls, I thought it would be lovely for them to each have a handmade quilt, something that they can perhaps pass on to their children and so on.

Unfortunately, I cannot sew. I've tried! I even brought myself a sewing machine, and managed to break it the first time I used it. I'm just hopeless at stuff like that.

I've been following Tania from Larger Family Life on Twitter and Facebook for a while now and when she mentioned she made quilts as part of Sullivan Country Crafts, I had to inquire.

I explained to Tania what I wanted. She emailed me some pictures of different fabric patterns and we soon found the ones we liked. I decided I wanted both the girls quilts to be the same (no arguing that way!) and decided to give them to the girls for Christmas.

I was really pleased when they arrived! They were a lot bigger than I had imagined. There was such intricate detailing on the quilts and the patterns we had chosen were perfect!

The girls instantly loved their quilts when the opened them Christmas morning.

A loves hers so much that she has not parted with it! It lives downstairs and its the first thing she grabs when she's tired. She curls up in it and buries her head under.

I would recommend getting in touch with Tania if you are after that special one off bespoke item that will last!!
